This Billing Information Policy ("Policy") outlines our practices regarding the collection, accuracy, and use of your billing information when making a purchase on TjsPets.co.uk. We are committed to processing customer billing data securely, transparently, and in full compliance with UK and EU data protection regulations.
2. What Billing Information We Collect
We only collect the billing information necessary to process your order and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
We Collect:
· Full Name: As it appears on your card issuer's records.
· Billing Address: The address associated with your payment card.
· Email Address: To send order receipts, payment confirmations, and billing-related correspondence.
· Last 4 Digits of Card: For reference purposes and to help identify the payment method used (e.g., "Visa ending in 1234").
· Transaction Details: The amount, date of purchase, and payment status.
We DO NOT Store:
· Full card numbers.
· CVV/CVC codes (the 3-digit security code).
· PIN numbers.
· Online banking credentials.
3. Accuracy of Billing Information
By completing a purchase on our website, you represent and warrant that all billing information you provide is:
· Accurate, complete, and current.
· Your own, or you are expressly authorised to use it.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your full legal name and billing address match the records held by your card issuer. Mismatches may result in payment refusal or delayed order processing.
4. Billing Verification
To prevent fraud and protect our customers, we may perform routine checks to verify the billing information provided. If we are unable to verify your billing address or other details, we reserve the right to:
· Contact you at the email address provided to confirm details.
· Cancel or delay your order until verification is complete.
· Request additional identification documents in cases of suspected fraudulent activity.
5. Currency & Conversion
· Billing Currency: All prices and billing on TjsPets.co.uk are in Pounds Sterling (£ GBP) unless explicitly stated otherwise.
· Currency Conversion: If your bank processes the payment in a currency other than GBP, the final amount charged may be subject to exchange rate fluctuations and foreign transaction fees imposed by your financial institution. TjsPets has no control over these additional fees and is therefore not liable for them.
6. Taxes & Customs Duties
· UK VAT: Applicable VAT at the prevailing UK rate is clearly displayed at checkout.
· EU VAT: For orders under €150, VAT is collected at checkout via the IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop). Our IOSS number is declared on all customs declarations.
· EU Customs Duty (from 1 July 2026): For orders under €150 destined for the EU, a fixed customs duty of €3 per item will apply (per EU Council decision, December 2025). This charge will be shown at checkout where possible.
· Orders of €150 or More: Import duties and taxes are the customer's responsibility.
7. Invoices & Receipts
· Order Confirmation: Sent immediately upon order placement. This message is NOT a tax invoice.
· Tax Invoice: Generated upon dispatch of your order. It is available in your account (if you created one) or can be requested by contacting us.
· Business Customers: You may enter your VAT number at checkout. We reserve the right to validate this number with tax authorities.
· Guest Checkouts: The invoice is attached to the shipping confirmation email sent to you.
8. Updating Your Billing Information
If your billing information changes (e.g., billing address), you are responsible for updating it in your account (if you have one) or contacting us directly for assistance with current orders. Keeping your information current helps ensure smooth payment processing.
